On August 22, 2021 Wrestling Entertainment offered limited $1,000 gold tier packages with Cena’s NFT, but only a small percentage of them were sold.
Cena claimed it was a mistake to offer his WWE NFTs as part of a package including tangible collectibles — a hat, shirt, wristbands, belt, towel, signed photo, and the digital collectable — at Florida Supercon 2021 on Sept. 12.
In the podcast of Pardon My Take, John Cena stated that he is studying about Twitch and NFTs, implying that he may emerge in the space. Cena revealed that he uses Twitter and Instagram frequently and that his huge Twitter “following” list allows him to broaden his expertise.
“I just went into a rabbit hole following EDM dance culture, and Non-Fungible Tokens, and also Twitch streamers because I know nothing about any of these avenues of the world, just like people may not know anything about the WWE.”
